FAQ
Questions, answered plainly
What postfast publishes to, how it handles a post that fails, what it costs, and how it holds your credentials.
The product
- What is postfast?
- A social media scheduler. You compose a post or a thread once, aim it at connected accounts across seven networks, schedule it, and postfast publishes it and records what happened on each one.
- Which networks does it publish to?
- X, Bluesky, Threads, Instagram, Facebook Pages, LinkedIn and Mastodon. All seven are built and publishing today.
- Can I use it now?
- Not yet. postfast is pre-launch, and access is through the waitlist. Everything described on this site is built and running — what is missing is the door being open.
- Is there a mobile app?
- Yes — a native app alongside the web portal, and it opens with early access. Plan limits are enforced on the server, so they apply the same way whichever one you publish from.
- How long can a post be?
- postfast accepts a body of up to 5,000 characters and up to 25 thread replies. Each network's own limit applies on top, whichever is tighter — and Publish Guard tells you which one is the problem before you schedule.
Publishing
- What happens if one network fails?
- Only that target fails. A post to six accounts is six independent deliveries, each with its own status, its own retry count and the network’s own error kept verbatim. Everything else publishes as normal.
- Will a retry repost the parts of a thread that already went out?
- No. postfast records which parts a network already accepted and resumes from there. That is the difference between a retry and a duplicate.
- Can I edit or cancel a scheduled post?
- Yes, at any point before it is handed over. Once publishing has started, what changes is the delivery record rather than the post.
- Does postfast use each network’s own scheduling?
- No. Most of these networks have no scheduling of their own and the rest model it differently, so postfast holds the post and hands it over at the moment it is due. That is why the same publish time means the same thing everywhere.
Plans and billing
- Is there a free plan?
- No. There is a 14-day trial that takes no credit card, and four paid plans after it.
- Is there a cap on scheduled posts?
- No. Every paid plan schedules an unlimited number. Plans differ on connected accounts, seats and workspaces.
- Why does X cost credits when nothing else does?
- Because X’s API charges per created post — and twenty times more for a post containing a link — while every other network is free per post. postfast passes that price list through rather than averaging it across everybody.
- Will my price change?
- Not while you are subscribed. Each subscription is stamped with the catalog version it was bought at and priced by that version for as long as it lives.
Accounts and security
- How are my social tokens stored?
- Encrypted at rest under the application secret and decrypted in memory only to sign a call to the network they belong to. No endpoint returns a credential to any caller, in any shape.
- Do I have to give postfast a password?
- For six of the seven networks, no — they connect by OAuth. Bluesky uses an app password that you create in Bluesky’s settings and can revoke there at any time without touching your account.
- What happens if I disconnect an account?
- The credential is deleted along with the delivery records that referenced it. Posts already published stay on the network, because they are your content.
- How do I delete the data postfast holds about me?
- For Meta networks, Meta’s own deletion callback is implemented: it erases every connected Meta account belonging to you across every workspace and answers with a confirmation code and a status page. For everything else, write to support@postfast.app.
