The one that connects today
Every Meta surface sits behind an app review. LinkedIn does not: postfast uses Sign In with LinkedIn using OpenID Connect together with Share on LinkedIn, and both are available without anybody approving anything first.
LinkedIn takes 3,000 characters in a post body, which is generous enough that most cross-posted copy fits and specific enough that a long-form post written for LinkedIn will overflow X by a wide margin. The guard names the network that is over rather than making you count.
What LinkedIn accepts in one post

- Not available. LinkedIn has no self-reply, so a thread cannot be chained here — Publish Guard blocks a thread aimed at it rather than publishing the first part alone.

- postfast holds the post and hands it over at the moment it is due, so a post can be scheduled a minute out or a year out.
How connecting works
- Sign In with LinkedIn using OpenID Connect. You approve postfast on LinkedIn’s consent screen; the code is redeemed server to server.
- Share on LinkedIn for publishing. Posts are created as member posts through the Posts API with the scopes you granted, and nothing more is requested.
- Tokens are sealed at rest. Encrypted under the application secret and returned by no endpoint.
- No public profile link. The scopes postfast asks for do not return a LinkedIn vanity name, so the connected account has no profile link. A broken link would be worse than a missing one, so postfast shows none rather than guessing at a URL.

No thread promises
A LinkedIn post cannot reply to a post — only comment on one, which does not chain in the feed. postfast blocks a thread aimed at LinkedIn rather than pretending.
Free per post
LinkedIn charges no API fee for publishing, so nothing here is metered.
Per-target status
A LinkedIn failure is its own record with LinkedIn’s own error, and it never blocks the other networks the post was aimed at.
Common questions
- Can postfast post to a LinkedIn Company Page?
- postfast publishes member posts through the Share on LinkedIn scopes it requests. Company Page posting needs a different set of scopes.
- Do I need a LinkedIn developer account?
- No. You approve postfast on LinkedIn’s normal consent screen, the same way you would approve any other app.
- Why is there no link to my LinkedIn profile in postfast?
- Because the scopes postfast requests do not return a vanity profile name, and the member id it does hold does not resolve to a public URL. Showing a link that goes nowhere would be worse than showing none.
